Abigail's Revision skincare edit
Firstly there are not many skincare ranges that come to the market where I literally love everything in the range, Revision is one of those very rare brands. The clever science, formulations, texture, how they sit and absorb into the skin and I am a stickler when it comes to ingredients, no artificial fragrance and colours, no parabens, sulphates or phthalates throughout the range.
Revision has been a beautiful game changer for my own skin as I am ageing and well into my late 40’s. It has very easily become a must-have in my own skincare routine.
Some of the products are an investment however they really do simplify your routine, I find I am using less but gaining more.
Gentle Cleansing Lotion
This is gentle but so effective as a makeup remover as well as a face cleanser. I learnt very early on in my career just how essential it is to get your cleansing right for your skin. The wrong cleanser can wreak havoc on your complexion, disrupting your natural skin barrier, making it sensitive and even cause spots. Gentle Cleansing Lotion has a lovely blend of ingredients which support the barrier and with no artificial fragrance and colours there is no potential for skin irritation, so totally safe pre and post procedure, which is always a good sign of a great cleanser and from experience makes it good for all skin types especially menopausal, dry and sensitives.
C+ Correcting Complex ™
Firstly the texture and feel on the skin is simply quite beautiful, a total pleasure to use, however, I know when investing in skincare we also want science and results, well it seems to do that too!
As Vitamin C serums go there is no tingle when it's applied but that doesn’t mean it's not really potent! It definitely makes the skin brighter without the tingle. It protects from future damage while also correcting damage that has already been done.
Because of its creamy formula, it's such a pleasure to use. I like using Hydrating Serum first and then applying this over the top. It's also prebiotic and supports the skin's natural microbiome, so more than a double whammy.
I really am amazed at how they have managed to tick the science results box as well as the luxury, beautiful experience. As a Vitamin C serum, this is in a cream texture, so particularly good for dry, ageing, menopausal skin.
D-E-J Face Cream ®
As with all of the Revision products, the texture and feel on the skin really stands out from the first use. I took this product on holiday with me as my only moisturiser (along with C+ Correcting Complex and Hydrating Serum) I like to travel light and keep things simple and a week in the sun was a good opportunity to fully trial just these products and they did not disappoint!
This really is an all in one cream, it feels nourishing and hydrating, but not too heavy.
A key point of difference with the D-E-J Face cream® is how it reduces trans-epidermal water loss. It's microbial friendly, packed with collagen-boosting peptides, as well as antioxidants, so it really does tick a lot of boxes when it comes to skin health, hydration, plumping and firming. I find my skin feels really comfortable and I'm not feeling I need extra hydration throughout the day, which I know is something as we age can start to happen.
